The large ceramic mass of Switch-Mode capacitors increases their susceptibility to damage from thermal shock
during soldering. Parts should be pre-heated to within 50°C of the peak soldering temperature and the preheating
cycle’s thermal gradient should be limited to a maximum of 2°C per second.
